UB Karatedo team retains championship title in Provincial PRISAA Meet

Hauling sixteen gold, two silver and eight bronze medals, the University of Bohol College of Criminology Karatedo team clinched the over-all championship in Karatedo event during the Provincial Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Meet held on January 23, 2016 at the UB gymnasium.


Dean Jesus C. Acullador of the College of Criminology disclosed that for this year, the university fielded sixteen players to vie for the Katatedo event. With Sensei Sonny D. Alvarez and Criminologist Marven Jumawid as coaches, the team managed to retain the title as over-all champion in Karatedo. In 2015, during the 2nd National Criminology Student Congress in Baguio, the team also placed 2nd over-all champion in Karatedo. It was learned from Dean Acullador that the UB College of Criminology offers a special class in Karatedo where students are trained by highly qualified instructors. The department has spacious and modern Dojo room.


Members of Karatedo team include , ( Girls ) Jessa Manila – 3 gold, 1 silver, Charise Fostanes – 2 gold, 1 bronze, Kate Rose Flores – 1 gold, Mary Jane Carias – 1 gold, Diana Rose Melencion – 1 silver, Sarah Jane Lugod – 1 bronze, and Princess Genelyn Bompat (Reserve).
