Boholano ranks 1st in PH swim ranking:
50m breaststroke boys 13 and under



As the Philippine Swimming League winded up its 59th Long Course National Championship on June 28-29, 2014, a Boholano swimmer who set new swim records in 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke now ranked first in the boys 13 and under 50m category of the 2014 Philippine Swimming Ranking:50m breaststroke.


Rian Marco Adiong-Tirol, a 13 year old pupil of the University of Bohol Victoriano D. Tirol, Sr. – Advanced Learning Center held supreme the 13 and under 50m. breaststroke clocking 32.44 sec. Tirol’s swim record surpassed the 2014 Southeast Asian Game Age Group silver medal time of Singapore’s Daryl Tan which is only 32.85sec. Had Tirol swam during the 2014 SEA games, he could have easily pocketed the silver medal. His record time is just a few milliseconds away from the 32.20 gold medal time of Singapore’s Dylan Siew. The Boholano swimmer’s 100m breast clocking time of 1:13.30 and 200m breast time of 2:40.00 in the 59th PSL championship also beat the boys 13 and under top 4 record timeof the 2014 SEA Age Group swimming championship in Singapore last June.


Touted by sports enthusiasts as potential world class athlete, Tirol is a swimmer to watch when he venture to swim the 14-15 age bracket in next year’s 2015 SEA Age Group swimming competition. (L.A.Boncales)
