UB VDTALC dominates Tagbilaran Saulog Quiz Bee 2025
Showcasing academic excellence, a team from the University of Bohol Victoriano D. Tirol Advanced Learning Center (UB VDTALC) Junior High School emerged as the champion in the Tagbilaran Saulog Quiz Bee 2025. The competition, which tested participants in English, Science, and Mathematics, was held on March 22, 2025, at the Bohol Cultural Center, Tagbilaran City. The winning team was composed of Abiah Cris G. Salces, James Timothy Q. Florenosos, Janrito Jydan S. Palma, and John Rhaine Pesquira, under the expert coaching of Teacher Ian Garcia. Meanwhile, another group of UB VDTALC Junior High School students secured 2nd runner-up honors in the Bohol Culture, History, and Tourism category. The team, consisting of Dastan Aleph D. Albuera, Bea T. De Juan, Vince Gabriel A. Bernaldez, and Princess Jamilla M. Amores, was guided by Teacher JR Medardo as coach. The 2025 Saulog Quiz Bee, organized by the City Government of Tagbilaran, is a key event in the annual Saulog Festivities and featured students from private schools across the city. Dr. Maribeth D. Alpuerto, School Principal, commended the students and their teacher-coaches for their outstanding performance, emphasizing the school’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic education. At precisely 10:45 AM, an alarm or long buzzer will sound repeatedly, signaling the commencement of the drill. We kindly ask the general public, especially those residing near the UB Campus, to remain calm as this is merely a Fire Drill. Employees, students, and clients will proceed to designated exit points located at the Main Gate, Founders Gate, and ST Bldg Gate along Dr. Cecilio Putong St.; CPG Car Park, facing the Bohol Cultural Center; ST Bldg Gate along Remolador St.; and Diamond Bldg Ground Floor Gate along Palma St. Your cooperation and understanding during this exercise are greatly appreciated. – University of Bohol Management
