In line with its commitment to the development of Filipino educator in addressing students issues in higher education, the University of Bohol through the offices of Student Personnel Services and Student Affairs Office successfully co-hosted the 19th Annual National Convention of the Philippine Association of Administrators of Student Affairs, Inc. (PAASA Inc.) last April 30 to May 3, 2014 at Bohol Plaza, Panglao Island, Dayo Hill, Mayacabac, Dauis, Bohol. This year's theme is Student Affairs Practitioners in the 21st Century: Meeting the Challenges and Opportunities of the ASEAN 2015.
Dr. Maria Paquita D. Bonnet, PAASA Inc. President and Coordinator for Job Placement Services, De La Salle University
welcomed the 114 student affairs practitioners coming from 55 private and state universities and colleges in the country.
Dr. Henry G. Magat, PAASA Business Manager and Chair of the convention presented the objectives and the general flow of
the convention while Mayor Mariette T. Sumaylo of the Municipality of Dauis welcomed the delegates to the island province
of Bohol.
Other speakers include, Atty. Jeremy I. Gatdula, secretary of School of Law and Governance, University of Asia and
the Pacific, Mrs. Jose S. Sandoval, chief, Employment Service Policies and Regulations Division, Bureau of Local Employment,
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Honorable Melinda L. Garcia, DMD, member, Professional Regulatory Board of
Dentistry, Professional Regulation Commission and Ms. Ma. Lourdes F. Melegrito, director, Center for Social Concern and
Action, De La Salle University, Manila.
Dr. Janice Aurora B. Tirol, SPS Dean and Engr. Lemuel O. Belarmino, SAO Head of the University of Bohol assisted the
