- Make sure your pets are kept safe indoors.
2. IF YOU NEED HELP OR RESCUE
In case of emergency or distress, please follow this standard operating procedure (SOP):
a. Stay Calm and Assess Your Situation
- If your area is at risk of flooding or landslide, evacuate early. Do not wait for the water to rise.
- Move to higher ground or proceed to your designated barangay evacuation center.
b. Contact Local Authorities Immediately
- Barangay Rescue: Get details from your respective barangays
- Bohol Provincial DRRM Office via TaRSIER 117:
0936-161-8938 / 0935-576-7194 / 0975-313-9892 - City/Municipal DRRMO: 911 for Tagbilaran / Get details from your MDRRMO
- Philippine Red Cross – Bohol Chapter: (038) 427-2174

c. When Requesting for Help, Provide Clear Information:
- Your full name, exact location, situation, and number of people with you.
- Keep communication short and direct to save phone battery and avoid congesting lines.
d. Coordinate Through Official Channels Only
- Follow advisories from PAGASA, NDRRMC, and Bohol PDRRMO.
- Refrain from sharing unverified posts or rumors on social media.
3. PHONE AND CONNECTIVITY GUIDELINES
To ensure you stay informed and connected:
- Charge all devices fully before power interruptions.
- Turn on Power Saving Mode and limit unnecessary use.
- Download important offline materials (maps, emergency numbers, etc.).
- Keep at least one basic phone (non-smartphone) if possible, it consumes less power.
- Avoid unnecessary calls during the height of the typhoon; prioritize emergency communication.
- Use text messaging (SMS) when possible, it works better in weak signal conditions.
- Follow updates on the official University of Bohol Facebook page and website for announcements about class suspension, resumption, or relief coordination.
4. AFTER THE TYPHOON
- Do not go outside until authorities declare your area safe.
- Beware of fallen wires, unstable structures, and deep or moving water.
- Check in with your classmates, friends, and family. Let others know you are safe.
- The University will post post-typhoon assistance or relief initiatives through official channels once conditions allow.
Let us all remain alert, cautious, and prayerful. Safety begins with preparation and discipline.
The University of Bohol stands ready to assist our students and the community should the need arise.
Stay safe, UBians.
