In its continuous pursuit of institutional advancement, the University of Bohol made a significant stride through a successful benchmarking visit to Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) on July 21, 2025.
This opportunity was made possible through the generous accommodation of PLM University President Atty. Domingo Y. Reyes, Jr., who shared valuable insights into the systems and practices that uphold PLM’s reputation for academic and operational excellence.
The visiting UB delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Ryan Jay Cruz, Head Executive Assistant, on behalf of the PLM University President who was attending to official matters at the Manila City Hall. Dr. Ronald Tan, PLM Vice President for Administration, further graced the occasion and reaffirmed PLM’s commitment to collaboration and shared learning across institutions. Leading the UB delegation was Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol III, University President, together with key officials:

Dr. Dan Michael Cortez, DIT, Vice President for Research, Academic, and Extension Services, synthesized the university’s integrated academic, research, and extension framework that drives excellence and relevance in public higher education.
Ms. Marie Antonette Macapagal, Focal Person for Linkages and Internationalization, presented impactful global partnerships and internationalization strategies.
Ms. Editha Medina, Officer-in-Charge of the University Research Center, provided an overview of PLM’s dynamic and outcomes-driven research culture.
Asst. Prof. Liezel Zafra, Director of the Center for University Extension Services, discussed meaningful community outreach programs aligned with national development goals.
Ms. Dina Mendez, Acting Chief of the Resource Generation Office, highlighted innovative approaches to sustainable financial and resource development.
